Guiding Statements for Pure Water for the World

Statement of Belief
Pure Water for the World believes that safe, clean drinking water is not only a fundamental human need to survive, but also an essential building block for people to change their lives and break the cycle of poverty. All people should have safe, clean drinking water.

Vision
Pure Water for the World provides access to sustainable safe, clean drinking water for people in developing countries. Through education and technology, we create healthier and more productive lives for children and their families.

Mission Statement
PWW Water works in remote regions of developing countries which lack sustainable clean, safe drinking water. We work with local governments and community partners to select, analyze the appropriate technology for the community, and to implement cost effective projects.

Our projects include a comprehensive education program to provide the community with the basic knowledge of water use, storage and personal hygiene and how all of these factors contribute to the health and well being of the users. To reinforce the health benefits of having clean, safe drinking water, we also provide parasitic treatment and the follow up and monitoring to make sure that the technologies are being used and that they are being used properly.

Pure Water for the World wants to accomplish the following in the next 3 years
1. To be recognized as a major resource when addressing water issues in developing countries.
2. To be recognized as being the pre-eminent provider of water services and particularly BSF to the rural populations in Honduras as well as having at least one fully operational project in at least four other Latin American countries and one in Africa.
3. To have an organized staff in place to handle our expanded mission.
4. To have in place a formalized education program and manual in addition to formalized monitoring and quality control program.
5. To have fully incorporated the use of plastic BSF where appropriate into its program.
6. To have at least one water harvesting station in place.
7. To have at least one volunteer, either a health professional or engineer, associated with each major project.
8. To have a marketing program fully in place including website, handouts and trade shows to secure necessary funding for our expanded efforts and role so that we can better meet the demands that are being made to have PWW projects throughout the world.
