In January of 2012, I embarked on my first trip to Honduras with Pure Water for the World. For the past few years, my father has been organizing the trips and I have wanted to join him but this was the first time my schedule allowed it. I could think of few better causes to support and it's tremendous to see how the organization is positively impacting families and communities on a daily basis. I have always found travel to Central America to be a real eye-opening experience but to be able to participate with the work that PWW is doing was also extremely rewarding.
Over the course of a few days our team installed about a dozen water filters and 7 latrines. In each of those instances we were working hand in hand with the families who would benefit from the installations. Although the labor left you tired at the end of the day, the sense of satisfaction really kept you going for the next day of work. I think the trip was extremely well organized and it left me wanting to stay involved with the work that PWW is doing. I'd highly encourage folks to sign up for this trip, it's a fantastic experience.
