Rotary members get far off the beaten path in Trojes

By: Jennifer Kessler, Volunteer, PWW Honduras

From October 17 to 21, a group from around the U.S. came to visit PWW in Trojes. Most were members of Rotary clubs who have supported PWW, and came to get see what PWW does in Honduras, up-close and hands-on.  Speaking for the Trojes-based team, it was also a great experience for us to get to know you, as some of the people who make the projects possible.  Thank you!

The week started with a day installing Sawyer filters in the community of San Francisco. This is a membrane-type water filter that PWW is testing as an exploratory pilot project.

The next couple days, the team split into two groups to install biosand filters and latrines, respectively

Trip members help a homeowner mix concrete his new latrine in the community of Las Delicias #2.

The team cools off after a long day in the field. Thanks to PWW board member Barry Poppel of the Trinity, FL, Rotary Club for organizing the trip.
