Students raise awareness and funds for families in Honduras

By: PWW

We recently witnessed a really heartwarming story. The Schwettman Interact Club donated $100 to Pure Water for the World to help kids and families in Honduras.  Trinity Rotary Club in Florida matched it, and it will be added to a NY/Honduras matching grant to total about $500, which is enough to provide water filters, latrines, education and training to a family in Honduras.

Schwettman Education Center is a voluntary educational program the district provides for students who have behavioral issues that have not been improved by a continuum of positive behavior and academic intervention strategies. Schwettman provides a positive, intensive behavioral change program staffed with a full-time Student Services Support Team that targets teaching, coping, and survival skills, and assists students in developing a positive attitude toward learning, the school environment, school staff, and their peers.

The 4 current members of this club have done a great job so far this year. These children, even with the challenges that they face, have worked very hard to raise money for Pure Water. Their hard work and generosity is inspiring.
