Carolyn Takes A 10,000 Foot Jump Into Retirement

Pure Water for the World Executive Director Takes A 10,000 Foot Jump Into Retirement

Rutland, VT – May 30, 2019. Pure Water for the World, Inc. announces an extraordinary event that will bring health, hope and opportunity to children and families in critical need.

Carolyn Crowley Meub, a Vermont native, recently announced her retirement after serving as Executive Director of Vermont-based nonprofit, Pure Water for the World (PWW), for 17 of the organization’s 20 years of existence.

“I still can’t believe the words ‘Carolyn’ and ‘retirement’ are in the same sentence,” Carolyn says. “I thought, what could be scarier than retiring? I know. Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane!”

With an unwavering commitment, on June 29th, the day before she officially retires, Carolyn will join colleagues and friends from across Vermont and New Hampshire in an exhilarating, highflying fundraising event. They will Jump for Safe Water!

The group will gather at Vermont Skydiving Adventure, where they will take off into the sky and tandem jump out of an airplane. Their goal is to raise $10 for every foot they cover on the way down…all 10,000 of them! The $100,000 fundraising effort will deliver life-changing safe water programs to families living in underserved communities in Central America and Haiti.

Initially a project of the Brattleboro Rotary Club, Pure Water for the World is a 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to improve lives by empowering people with access to life’s most basic necessities…safe water and sanitation. Under Carolyn’s leadership, the organization has grown into a highly regarded, global leader in WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), impacting hundreds of communities and hundreds of thousands of people with life-changing solutions. In 2012, Carolyn was honored at the White House with a “Champion of Change” award for her dedication to improving lives.
