PWW Team Member: Mauricio Reyes

PWW Team Member Highlight: December 2019

Each month we are featuring a member of PWW’s staff. This gives you the opportunity to get to know our team a little better and gain an understanding about what makes them such a special part of PWW’s safe water programs.

PWW Team Member: Mauricio Reyes

PWW Office:  Trojes, Honduras

Position within PWW: Project Coordinator

Years with PWW: 3+

How did you first learn about PWW?

When I began working as a contract supervisor for PWW on the “BBQ Project” (learn about BBQ project).

What inspires you the most about the work you do?

The team I work with.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Planning the day with the them and verifying the work in the field and office.

What has been your greatest challenge?

My greatest challenge has been looking at past processes, evaluating them, and then working to improve upon and/or expand them to create the best results.

What is your favorite project with PWW?

My favorite projects are implementing sanitation in schools.

Tell us a little bit about your family.

I suffer from a case of “dispersed family”! I have four children. I live in San José de Colinas, Santa Barbara with my youngest son (3 years old). My other three children (16, 12 and 8) live in Tegucigalpa. I try to be with them all as much as possible, so I regularly travel between the locations.

What is your favorite activity to do when you are not working?

My favorite activity, when not working, is being with my children at home, repairing the car, going out on the ATV with them, and watching animated films before going to bed.

What is your favorite food?

Beans, Cuajada (a milk curd cheese product) and corn tortilla tostadas.

Anything else you want people to know about you?

I like my free time and try to make the most of it.

We invite you to come to Honduras and meet Mauricio, in person. We are grateful for his dedication to PWW, his commitment to improving processes, and his passion to bring safe water and sanitation to all.
