What’s Your 2020 Vision?

Happy New Year!

2019 was a year to remember at PWW! To celebrate our 20th year as a nonprofit, we held a gathering in Burlington, VT over the summer during which time PWW founders and long-time supporters spoke eloquently about the profound impact our small organization has created. Senator Leahy called PWW “one of the great success stories in the world,” citing us as example of how to get a lot done when a little money is directed in the right way. Your generous support makes this possible.

The experiences we have gained through the years have led our organization to expand beyond simply providing clean water. Click here to view a diagram that illustrates the components which go into creating a truly sustainable and impactful program, incorporating all of the elements of WASH…water, sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual hygiene management.

With your help, in 2019, we reached over 3,000 children and adults with life-changing programs. Our implementation teams served 471 families and 13 community schools. Our training teams had a strong year, conducting over 100 workshops and consulting eight organizations.

What’s your 2020 vision? Even with the new year and decade, our vision remains the samea world in which all people have safe water, proper sanitation and the knowledge to sustain it for future generations.

Some highlights of our 2020 goals include:

  • Continue to deliver on our mission to improve lives by empowering people with access to life’s most basic necessities…safe water and sanitation.
  • Expand partnerships to deliver WASH programs, including menstrual hygiene management education, into more schools.
  • Train more organizations about how to effectively implement WASH programs, which enables us to expand well beyond the reach of the PWW teams alone.
  • Continue to improve our programs and systems through assessments, revisions, and additional trainings.
  • Grow the Jump for Safe Water and Ride for Safe Water events.

We are tremendously grateful for our hard-working and dedicated teams in the USA, Honduras, and Haiti; our devoted Board of Directors; our steadfast volunteers; our dedicated partners and collaborators; and the community members in each region who partner with us to make their water and sanitation programs both successful and sustainable.

Finally, we are especially grateful for you, our incredible supporters. Thank you for allowing us to be stewards of your nonprofit investments. Without you, this work would not be possible.

As always, we welcome your deeper involvement. Please feel free to contact us anytime at info@purewaterfortheworld.org or 802-747-0778.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2020.

With gratitude,
