Meet John Langford, of Falls Church Virginia. John road his Peloton for the 30-mile Ride for Safe Water Virginia event last Saturday, the 13th of June. This event kicked off PWW’s Ride for Safe Water 2020 virtual summer event. The Ride for Safe Water Virginia raised almost $2000 in funds to help share safe water, sanitation and hygiene education with children and families living in underserved regions of Honduras.
Why did John decide to Ride for Safe Water?
“Linda is my friend, and I knew she did her trip to Honduras last year to help with that, and I could tell it was important to her.” (Linda is the ride organizer and PWW volunteer – look for her spotlight next week.)
So today you were riding in Virginia. John, where has been your favorite place to ride?
“When I visit my sister in Charlotte, we regularly go to the US Whitewater Center there and ride through their mountain bike trails. Those are always fun.”
In chatting with John we asked him what his earliest riding memory was…
“Around kindergarten/1st grade age doing pop wheelies riding down the sidewalk on our street when we lived in St. Louis.”
