Lead Community Agents in Action – Ronise Jean

Ronise Jean: Lead Community Agent, Limonade, Haiti

“I was motivated to accept the role of Community Agent because I would like to see improvement in the health of families living in my community. There are many families who need to have good quality water to drink and who need education about hygiene in order to protect their lives from diseases. So it is my pleasure to provide my services to help them in a way that they can live better lives!

We celebrate Ronise Jean and all of the LCAs who are working hard, learning about critical WASH practices and sharing these lessons with members of their communities and with school groups. They are helping to create a community-wide foundation that supports improved health, renewed hope, and brighter futures.

The Community Education Program (CEP) is a community-based, community-driven and community-led education program (read more) that involves PWW training and supporting local community leaders, Lead Community Agents, to serve as WASH paraprofessionals.

Trained LCAs deliver safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) trainings to families and schools, by way of targeted community workshops, that reinforce healthy WASH practices among members of their communities in order to advance the ownership, efficacy and sustainability of the WASH programs.

We look very forward to continuing to grow this impactful program that is focused on strengthening local WASH capacity and empowering local community members to take charge of their health and future!
